Jakarta DPRD Vice Chairwoman Zita Anjani has called on the city administration to optimize flood prevention programs in the capital city.
She assessed the current flood management program was more mature. Nevertheless, it should be optimized again thus residents could feel the benefits.

According to her, flood prevention in Jakarta could not be effective if it only relied on the government but also needed the awareness of residents in maintaining a clean environment.
"If the preparation is done but the residents are ignorant, the result will be unoptimal," she stressed.
She added that her party had started an inventory of the flood issues before giving recommendations to the executive to follow up on it.
"So it must be adapted to our findings and solutions. The point is together we develop a better Jakarta," she stated.
